Gainesville, VA, USA: u-Smell-it™ LLC powered by Enterprise Database Corporation (EDC^®) has been declared a winner in the XPRIZE Rapid COVID Testing Open Innovation Track, recognizing u-Smell-it™’s high potential for impactful screening, scalability, and access.

XPRIZE is a leader in designing and operating incentive competitions to solve humanity’s grand challenges, and the XPRIZE Rapid COVID Testing was a $6 million dollar, 6-month competition to develop faster, cheaper, and easier to use COVID-19 testing methods at scale. The winners were chosen by an independent panel, selecting the winners from more than 700 international companies.

u-Smell-it™ detects deficiencies in the sense of smell, a common symptom of COVID-19, by using a test card with five scent areas, such as banana and mint. Test results are ready in 45 seconds with the easy-to-use app or website, and the u-Smell-it™ test’s efficacy has been proven in multiple clinical trials.

u-Smell-it™ has also pledged that for every individual test purchased, another test will be donated to an area in need.
